North Decatur swept Franklin County in volleyball action. The Chargers won the varsity match in three sets. Madi Allen had nine kills for North Decatur. The Charger jayvees won in two sets. North Decatur missed just three serves as a team. Eliza Kenelly and Brynlee Green both served two aces.

The North Decatur boys’ cross-country team came in sixth at Saturday’s Rushville Invitational with a score of 142. Eli Weisenbach earned a Top 20 finish with a time of 19:26. Batesville finished first to take the boys’ race.

The Chargers girls’ cross-country team came in fifth at Rushville with 133 points. Dorothy Robbins and Norah Amberger led the way for North Decatur with times 25:31 and 25:47, respectively. The Bulldogs also won the girls meet.

New Castle shut out Batesville 5-0 in boys’ tennis. The Bulldogs fall to 3-4 on the season.

Batesville takes on South Dearborn in boys high school soccer this evening. Coverage is scheduled to begin at 5:30 on 103.9 FM and the WRBI app.

Tickets are on sale online only for East Central’s varsity football game on Friday against Moeller at Mt. St. Joseph University in Cincinnati. The game is expected to sell out since the stadium only seats up to 25-hundred fans. The cost is $10 per ticket maximum, and limited to four tickets per transaction. The Reds knocked off the Houston Astros 5-3 in the series lid lifter yesterday at Great American Ball Park. Ty France went 4-for-4 at the plate with an RBI, and Santiago Espinal drove in two. Carson Spiers got the win in relief; future Hall of Famer Justin Verlander took the loss and Justin Wilson notched the save. After a rare Tuesday off day, the series resumes tomorrow night.
