Oldenburg Academy boys tennis defeated Milan 3-2 to move into the sectional semifinals. Winners for the Twisters were Clay Eckstein 6-0, 6-2; Grant Rosenberger 6-0, 6-1; and the doubles team of Grant Wanstrath and Grant Hartwell 6-4, 7-6 (8-6).

Batesville girls varsity soccer played host Columbus North to a scoreless tie Wednesday evening. The BHS JVs lost 1-nil.

OA girls soccer took two from Franklin County. The Twisters varsity and JV squads won by identical scores of 5-nil.

Oldenburg boys soccer tied with Lawrenceburg 3-3 at The Graveyard  Wednesday evening. Connor Holder recorded a hat trick by scoring all three Twister goals. OA finishes the regular season at 8-4 and will play Rising Sun Monday evening at the Jac-Cen-Del sectional.

The Los Angeles Dodgers eliminated the Reds from the postseason 8-4 in a do-or-die Game Two of the National League Wild Card series as heard last night on WRBI. The host Dodgers swept the series two games to none. The Reds have lost a franchise-record eight consecutive postseason games dating back to 2012. The last time they advanced in a postseason round was 1995, when they swept the Dodgers in the National League Division Series.

Former all pro linebacker Shaquille Leonard will retire as a member of the Indianapolis Colts at halftime of Sunday’s game against the Las Vegas Raiders at Lucas Oil Stadium. Leonard was a three-time first team AP all pro linebacker and three-time pro bowler during six seasons with the Colts. He was drafted by Indy in 2018, and last played in the NFL in 2023. Leonard will make his retirement official during remarks to the crowd at halftime of Sunday’s game.
