Lawrenceburg held off East Central 45-40 in girls basketball last night. The Trojans fall to 9-11 overall and 4-2 in the EIAC.

Coming up tonight in girls hoops on the Sports Voice, South Ripley and Jac-Cen-Del renew their rivalry in Osgood. Coverage begins around 7:15 on 103.9 FM, wrbiradio.com and the WRBI app.

Elsewhere, Batesville travels to South Decatur, Milan heads to Oldenburg , Franklin County is at South Dearborn, and North Decatur journeys to Hauser.

In the lone boys basketball contest on tonight’s local schedule, OA goes to Hauser.

The Bengals have hired Jerry Montgomery as defensive line coach/run game coordinator, and Mike Hodges as linebackers coach. Montgomery comes to Cincinnati from New England, where he spent the 2024 season as the Patriots’ defensive line coach. Hodges spent the past eight seasons with New Orleans, most recently serving as the Saints linebackers coach from 2020-24.

The Colts are sticking with one of their assistant coaches. ESPN is reporting defensive line coach Charlie Partridge is staying on as part of defensive coordinator Lou Anarumo’s staff. Partridge is coming off his first season with Indianapolis after spending six years at the University of Pittsburgh.

Purdue moves up one spot to #10 in this week’s AP Top 25 College Basketball poll. Auburn is #1, followed by Duke, Iowa State, Alabama and Florida to round out the top five.
