Last night in boys hoops action, South Decatur topped Seton Catholic 77-64 at the famed Hoosiers Gym in Knightstown. Cayden Drake threw in 38 points for the Cougars; East Central downed Rushville 45-28; it was Connersville 54, Greensburg 44 at the Spartan Bowl; Franklin County turned back Union County 42-33, and Hauser beat North Decatur 56-42.
The #1 Indiana Hoosiers rolled over 5th-seeded Oregon 56-22 in the College Football Playoff semifinal at the Peach Bowl in Atlanta. Hoosier quarterback and Heisman Trophy winner Fernando Mendoza threw for 177 yards and five touchdowns. IU capitalized on three Duck turnovers in the first half and led 35-7 at halftime. The Hoosiers improve to 15-0 and will play the Miami Hurricanes in the CFP national championship game in Miami next Monday night.
