In girls basketball tournament doubleheader action heard last night on WRBI, South Decatur dumped Knightstown 46-26 at Class 1A Sectional 59 at Southwestern (Shelby). The Cougars improve to 13-11 and advance to the semifinals on Friday against Waldron. The Mohawks clobbered the host Southwestern (Shelby) Spartans 82-42.
In the nightcap at Class 1A Sectional 6o at Hauser, Jac-Cen-Del grounded the host Jets 49-44. The Eagles improve to 8-15 and move on to Friday’s semifinals against Shawe Memorial. The Hilltoppers eliminated Trinity Lutheran 44-38.
Batesville entertains South Dearborn in boys basketball tonight on the Sports Voice. Coverage begins around 7:15 on 103.9 FM, wrbiradio.com and the WRBI app.
Elsewhere, East Central heads down State Road 1 to Lawrenceburg, Class 2A #3 and undefeated South Ripley is home against Southwestern (Hanover), Milan entertains Rising Sun, Greensburg hosts Rushville, North Decatur goes to Waldron, and South Decatur journeys to Morristown.
