Schools receive 2015-2016 accountability grades

Indiana Department of EducationINDIANAPOLIS, Ind. — The Indiana Department of Education released school accountability grades on Wednesday for the 2015-2016 school year.

Former Superintendent of Public Education Glenda Ritz said that Indiana implemented a new student-centered school accountability system utilizing new, more rigorous standards and assessments for the first time.

For those reasons, the 2015-2016 school year establishes a new baseline for school accountability grades in Indiana.

That means that fewer school received an A this year. Most schools in our area received a B grade this year.
