(Ripley County, IN) – Lights, camera, action!
The Ripley County Film Fest is officially returning June 1–6, 2026, and filmmakers can start submitting their short films beginning November 3, 2025, through April 1, 2026.
After an unforgettable inaugural year, the festival is once again inviting storytellers of all ages and experience levels to share their creativity on the big screen at The Gibson Theatre in Batesville and The Damm Theatre in Osgood.
Hosted by the Ripley County Community Foundation, the Film Fest celebrates the power of storytelling, the magic of cinema, and the strong sense of community that comes from bringing people together through art. Last year’s event featured 16 original short films, a 24-Hour Filmmakers Challenge, and drew nearly 500 attendees who packed the historic single-screen theaters to cheer on local talent.
“This event showcases the incredible creativity we have right here in Ripley County,” said Ben Peetz, President, Board of Directors for the Ripley County Community Foundation. “From local hobbyists and students – to accomplished professionals who have Ripley County roots – the stories that people share celebrate the pride they have in our area and serve as an amazing testament to the talent that can be found in our small communities.”
Filmmakers are encouraged to submit short films of any genre, from drama, comedy, documentary, animation, or experimental, for the chance to see their work on the big screen and compete for awards recognizing excellence in storytelling, production, creativity, and more.
Submissions open November 3, 2025, and close April 1, 2026. Submission details and festival updates are available at https://rccfonline.org/impact/initiatives/ripley-youth-outreach/. Join us in
celebrating the vibrant stories and talents of Ripley County.
