Over the weekend, the Cincinnati Reds won two out of 3, earning a series win over the St. Louis Cardinals.
On Friday, the Reds struggled to get their offense going until late in a 7-4 loss.
The Cardinals went up 5-0 before the Cincinnati finally got on the board in the 7th with a Stuart Fairchild RBI single and Kevin Newman sacrifice fly that scored Tyler Stephenson.
St. Louis would answer in the bottom half of the 7th with two runs scoring on a Nolan Gorman two-run blast to make it 7-2.
Stuart Fairchild would knock in the final two runs of the game for the Reds in the 8th to make it 7-4.
Fairchild finished the game 2-3 with a double and 2 RBI.
Blake Lively was handed the loss on the mound, allowing 10 hits and 7 earned runs in 6 and 2/3 innings.
Jordan Montgomery earned the win on the mound, striking out six and allowing 0 runs in 6 innings.

After the loss on Friday, the Reds would rebound, winning 8-4 on Saturday
Luke Maile would kick things off offensively for Cincinnati with a 3-run double in the second to make it a 3-0 game after 2 innings. In the 3rd, Elly De La Cruz would knock in a run. A second run would score on a Spencer Steer sacrifice fly, making it a 5-0 game.
Four innings later, Steer brought in two more runs to give the Reds a 7-0 advantage.
The Cardinals offense would get going late to make it an 8-4 game before Reds Reliever Alexis Diaz halted the comeback, giving Cincinnati its first win of the series.
Luke Maile went 2-4 with 2 doubles and 3 RBI.
Rookie Andrew Abbott got the win on the mound, striking out 4 in 5 and 2/3 shutout innings.
Miles Mikolas was saddled with the loss, allowing 5 earned runs and 7 hits in 6 innings.

Cincinnati finished the series on a high note on Sunday, beating the Cardinals in a back-and-forth game 4-3.
Jonathan India kickstarted the offense in the top of the first for Cincinnati with a solo home run.
St. Louis would strike back with 2-runs in the second to take a brief lead 2-1.
The Reds and Cardinals scored one run each in the third to make it 3-2 St. Louis.
After the 3rd inning, 0 runs were scored until the 6th inning when Tyler Stephenson knocked in Elly De La Cruz on an RBI single, tying the game at 3-3.
The game deciding run would come in the top of the 8th as Elly De La Cruz scored on a fielder’s choice by Tyler Stephenson to give the Reds a 4-3 lead.
Alexis Diaz shut down St. Louis in the 9th to earn his 15th save on the year.
De La Cruz went 2-3 with an RBI.
With the win, Cincinnati’s record improves to 31-35 on the season. The Reds begin a 3-game road set with the Kansas City Royals tonight. Game coverage begins on 103.9 WRBI at 7:40.
