On a rainy Monday night in Baltimore, the Cincinnati Reds were routed by the Orioles 10-3, making it the 3rd straight loss for the Reds after winning 12 straight.
The Reds got an early 1-0 lead thanks to a Spencer Steer RBI single in the top of the first.
From the 2nd through the 5th innings, Baltimore piled on the runs, scoring 7 in the 4-inning span to make it a 7-1 lead for the Orioles.
Cincinnati would get on the board in the 6th with a 2-run home run by Spencer Steer to make it a 7-3 game.
However, Baltimore added 3 more runs in the 7th to give them a 10-3 lead and ultimately seal the game. One run would score on an Austin Hays ground rule double. The other two runs would score on an Adley Rutschman 2 RBI single.
With the loss and Milwaukee’s win on Monday, the Reds drop to 2nd place in the NL Central. Cincinnati now trail the Brewers by a 1/2 game in the division.
Spencer Steer highlighted the Reds offense, going 3-3 with a home run and 3 RBI.
Brandon Williamson took the loss on the mound striking out 2 and walking 3, while allowing 3 earned runs in 2 innings.
