Osgood, In.— The Ripley County Community Foundation recently distributed about $8,000 to local organizations through the Ray Herman & Louise Herman-Crum Memorial Endowment Fund and the Frank Tarter Community Trust Fund. Both funds are directed to improving the quality of life for Osgood area residents.
The Foundation distributed $2,950 total from the Herman-Crum Fund. The Osgood Lions Club received $950 for fundraising equipment, mulch, flowers, and flags for the fairgrounds, $1,000 to the Ripley County Food Pantry for food, and $1,000 to Osgood Beautification and Main Street Department to purchase seasonal banners.
Another $5,000 from the Frank Tarter Community Trust Fund was distributed as follows: $735 to Osgood Public Library to support the summer reading program, $1,815 to Child Evangelism Fellowship for counselor training, $50 to Osgood Lions Club for flowers and mulch, and $1,800 to the Jac-Cen-Del School Corporation for the “Positive Behavior Intervention Program.”
