Patricia G. Gerke, 79, of Aurora, Indiana, was received into the arms of Jesus on Tuesday, July 25, 2017 in Aurora, Indiana.
She was born July 23, 1938 in Cincinnati, OH, daughter of the late Pasquale and Ruth Daria.
She worked as a Registered Nurse for Dearborn County Hospital, retiring after over 30 years of service.
Patricia was a member of St. Mary’s Catholic Church. Her parish family was very important to her, as the practice of her faith was the most integral part of her life. She enjoyed her morning rosary group after daily mass, and she was also a member of the choir. Patricia also volunteered with St. Vincent de Paul and was a docent at the Hillforest Mansion in Aurora. Patricia was a member of the Dearborn County Right to Life; the issue of respecting life was near and dear to her heart.
Surviving are children, Greg (Amber) Gerke of Indianapolis, IN, Mary Ann (Ed) Campbell of Louisville, OH, Susan (Jim) Renner of Milford, OH, Steven (Maria) Gerke of Indianapolis, IN, Kevin (Jessica) Gerke of Aurora, IN; grandchildren, Zachery & Drew Gerke, Grant & Robin Campbell, Danny, Patrick & Stephanie Renner, William & Thomas Gerke, Preston Sullivan & Audrey Gerke.
She was preceded in death by her parents and brother, Charles Daria.
Friends will be received Monday, July 31, 2017, 4:00 pm – 7:00 pm at the St. Mary’s Catholic Church, 203 Fourth Street, Aurora, Indiana.
Mass of Christian burial will be held at the Church on Tuesday, August 1, 2017 at 11:00 am with Father Stephen Donahue officiating.
Interment will follow in the St. Joseph’s Cemetery, Cincinnati, Ohio.
