Patricia Collins, of Batesville was born on April 2, 1935 in Sparta, IN, a daughter to James and Alice Strupe Slayback. She spent a number of years providing care to patients as a nurse’s aide. Patricia was affiliated with the New Point Baptist Church. She loved fishing, bird watching, coloring in her adult coloring book, and playing bingo every week. Patricia also loved having fun and being ornery with the nurse’s aides at St. Andrews Health Campus. On Monday, July 8, 2019 Patricia passed away at St. Francis Hospital in Indianapolis.
Those surviving who will cherish Patricia’s memory include her children, Sharon Hittel of Batesville, Dennis (Teresa) Collins of Indianapolis, Dale (Eva) Collins of Holton, IN, Jerry (Deborah) Collins of Holton, and Nita Lazenby of Versailles; thirteen grandchildren; twenty-seven great-grandchildren; three great-great-grandchildren; two sisters, Henrietta Deaton of Moores Hill and Sharon Ames of South Carolina; two brothers, Joe Slayback of Illinois and Thomas Slayback of Versailles; and many nieces and nephews. Patricia was preceded in death by her parents; husband, Dennis Collins; two brothers, Bill and James Slayback; and one sister, Faye Slayback.
Friends may visit the family on Thursday, July 11, 2019 from 12 noon until the time of service at 2 p.m. at Cook Rosenberger Funeral Home, 107 Vine Street, Sunman. Burial will follow immediately in St. Paul Cemetery in Sunman.
