Pagenaud on Pole

INDIANAPOLIS, Ind. — Simon Pagenaud drove off with the pole for the 3rd Grand Prix of Indianapolis.

The winner of the prior two IndyCar races of the 2016 season says he feels like the red tires are really “working magically” on his car. Pagenaud’s plan is to continue staying more focused on the task, rather than the results, in his second year with Team Penske. Josef Newgarden, starting 5th tomorrow, says in order to get a good finish the car set-up really has to be precise, much like the Indy 500.

The other 5 drivers in the Fast 6 all agree that their main goal, aside from winning the race, is to stop Pagenaud’s winning streak tomorrow. Historically Turn 1 of the Grand Prix of Indianapolis is a tricky spot for the drivers. With that in mind, Pagenaud thinks his car and his team will be in good shape, as long as they make it through that treacherous corner.
