That’s the word from local law enforcement agencies after severe weather rumbled through Southeastern Indiana.
WRBI Meteorologist Michael Karow says it’s unusual to have strong to severe storms in February.
“Especially this far north. It’s usually a little farther off to the southeastern part of the country this time of year,” Karow said. “March is when we start to typically get a little bit more of that severe weather risk, especially into northern Illinois and starting to get closer to the Ohio River Valley region but, yeah, we’re a little bit ahead of schedule.”
Decatur County was under a tornado warning, which prompted officials to stop the South Decatur-Greensburg boys basketball game. Everyone was escorted out of the gym until the all-clear was signaled and the game between county rivals resumed.

In addition, a tornado watch and severe severe thunderstorm warnings were issued Thursday.
Meanwhile, a possible tornado hit Bloomington Thursday night, damaging homes, a bank, the county airport, a car dealership, and the local Humane Association shelter.
Roofs were torn off homes, fences and powerlines were down, and over 2,000 customers lost electricity.
The Humane Association confirmed all animals are safe.
There have been no injuries reported.
