No One Injured in I-74 Bus Fire

(St. Paul, IN) – There were no injuries reported when a charter bus caught fire on westbount I-74 near Exit 129 in St. Paul Friday morning.

The fire started in the engine compartment, which forced the driver to pull over.

By the time first responders arrived on the scene, the fire had already been put out but the more than 40 passengers were stranded.

Arrangements were made for a school bus to take the passengers to the St. Paul Civic Center while they waited for another charter bus to pick them up.

Responding agencies included the St. Paul Town Marshal’s Office, St. Paul and Waldron fire departments, Decatur County Sheriff’s Office, Decatur County Dispatch, Decatur County EMS. Decatur County EMA and Decatur County Health Department.
