Mr. Vernon “Collin” Pruitt, age 56, of East Enterprise, Indiana, formerly of Indianapolis, Indiana, entered this life on April 13, 1969 in Tennessee. He was the son of the late Robert “Bobby” and Sylvia Jean (Walters) Pruitt. He was raised in Tupelo, Mississippi, where he graduated from high school in 1987. Collin later attended a Community College in Mississippi. On June 19, 2001, Collin was united in marriage to the love of his life, Andrea Brown Hallett, on a sailboat in Gulf Shores, Alabama. Together they shared over 24 wonderful years of marriage filled with love, laughter, and adventure. Collin worked as a painter for 20 years in the Noblesville, Indiana community. Collin was currently working as a painter for Heitlauf Corporation in La Grange, Kentucky. He was a true outdoorsman at heart, and loved fishing most of all. Whether it was casting a line at a favorite spot or sharing the experience with his family, those peaceful moments by the water were some of his happiest. In his early years, he also enjoyed hunting. He loved cheering on the Mississippi State Bulldogs and the Indianapolis Colts. Some of Collin’s happiest moments were spent riding through the countryside in the Jeep with Andi by his side, soaking in the scenery., He loved spending time with his grandchildren and his two devoted huskies, Milo and Nova. Collin unexpectedly passed away on Thursday, October 16, 2025, at his residence.
Collin will be deeply missed by his wife, Andrea “Andi” (Brown) Hallett of East Enterprise, IN; his daughter, Alyssa Hallett of Morgantown, IN; his grandchildren, Emily and Kaylee Hallett of Morgantown, IN; his sister, Angie Herring of Saltillo, MS; his brother, Robby Pruitt and his wife, Cindy of Saltillo, MS; his nieces and nephews; his uncle, Terry Pruitt of Terre Haute, IN; his mother-in-law, Mary Jo (Shadday) Brown of Vevay, IN; his sister-in-law and brother-in-law, Peggy and Lowell Johnson of Greenwood, IN; and several other aunts, uncles and cousins.
He was preceded in death by his father, Robert “Bobby” Pruitt; his mother, Sylvia Jean (Walters) Pruitt; his maternal-grandparents, Leroy and Sybil (Buskirk) Walters; and his sister-in-law, Linda Diane “Winnie” (Peelman) Wilson.
Visitation will be held from 11:00 a.m. – 1:00 p.m., Friday, October 24, 2025, at the Haskell & Morrison Funeral Home, 208 Ferry Street, Vevay, Indiana 47043.
Funeral services will be conducted at 1:00 p.m., Friday, October 24, 2025, at the Haskell & Morrison Funeral Home, 208 Ferry Street, Vevay, Indiana 47043. Interment will follow in the Vevay Cemetery, Vevay, Indiana.
