Mr. David Richard Chipman, age 83, of Cincinnati, Ohio, entered this life on March 25, 1938 in Cincinnati, Ohio. He was the son of the late, Elmer and Cora M. (Tippenhauer) Chipman. David was raised in Rising Sun, Indiana where he was a 1956 graduate of the Rising Sun High School. David was united in marriage on June 11, 1960 at the Rising Sun United Methodist Church to Wanda JoAnn Bladen. This happy union was blessed with a daughter, Marcia and a son, Rich. David and Wanda shared nearly 50 years of marriage together until she passed away on February 27, 2010. David was employed as a grocery stocker for Meijer’s in Cincinnati, Ohio for two years. He also owned and operated Chipman Machining Company in Cincinnati, Ohio from 1987-2015. David resided in the Cincinnati, Ohio community since 1962. He was a member of the Groesbeck United Methodist Church in Cincinnati, Ohio. He enjoyed gambling, working, playing cards and socializing with his family and friends. David passed away at 10:00 p.m., Monday, May 31, 2021, at the Mercy Health West in Cincinnati, Ohio.
David will be missed by his daughter, Marcia Sprague of Covington, KY; his son, Rich Chipman and his companion, Laurie Carrig of Cincinnati, OH; his grandchildren, Cristina, Timothy, Carmon, Joshua and Cassandra; his great-grandchildren, Conner, Gavin, Caitlyn, Elijah and Lillian; his brother-in-law, Robert Bailey of Rising Sun, IN and his nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by his father, Elmer Chipman; his mother, Cora M. (Tippenhauer) Chipman; his wife, Wanda JoAnn (Bladen) Chipman; his brothers, Robert and Carl Chipman and his sisters, Dorothy Cutter, Violet Cook and Ruth Bailey.
Funeral services will be conducted at 1:00 p.m., Saturday, June 5, 2021, by Tom Work, at the Haskell & Morrison Funeral Home, 208 Ferry Street, Vevay, Indiana 47043.
Interment will follow in the Vevay Cemetery, Vevay, Indiana
