Mrs. Wanda Nell “Nellie Bell” (Noble) Duke

Mrs. Wanda Nell “Nellie Bell” (Noble) Duke, age 78, of Fowler, Indiana, formerly of Switzerland County, Indiana, entered this life on July 5, 1942 in Hawesville, Kentucky. She was the loving daughter of the late Herbert and Creshia (Flake) Noble Riley Davis. Wanda was united in marriage to Garland “Junior” Duke on February 22, 1957 in Hardinsburg, Kentucky. To this union arrived three children to their Christ filled home of over 61 years, Dale, Steve, and Tracy. Wanda was a member of the Bennington United Methodist Church in Bennington, Indiana and was employed at the Switzerland County Division of Family Resources in Vevay, Indiana for many years. Wanda was a faithful servant of the Lord and her family. She loved baking yeast rolls, spending time with family, taking long walks with her grandchildren and keeping up with current events while watching Fox News. Wanda loved her family with all her heart, she never knew a stranger and her home was always open to those in need – she was a true servant of the Lord. In her final years, Wanda’s heart was filled with joy as she entered into her final and best job of Great Grandma to 22 special children – a title that she adored. Wanda passed away peacefully on May 30, 2021 at the Green-Hill Manor in Fowler, Indiana.

Wanda will be deeply missed by her loving family: Steven Todd Duke and his wife, Jamie of Fowler, Indiana; Tracy Duke of Indianapolis, Indiana; her grandchildren, Jason Duke, Lindsey Nelson (Scott), Courtney Baker (Rick), Natasha Cox (Brent) Brandon Duke (Emy Jo), Elisha Heim (Sean), Erin Bradley (Mike), Ethan Eversman and Kami Eversman. She was adored and will be missed more than words can say by her great-grandchildren, Michael, McKenna, Mavery, Manning, Lyndy, Jack, Jayden, Brantly, Alli, Briar, Brody, Alex, Lydia, Adylyn, Jonah, James, Markus, McKenzie, Rowan, Thatcher, Leighton and Abe; her sisters, Jean Bishop of Tell City, Indiana and Beverly Dow of Cannelton, Indiana; her brother, Joseph Noble of Tell City, Indiana and her many nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by the love of her life, Garland “Junior” Duke,died October 1, 2018; her loving son, Garland “Dale” Duke, died April 17, 2015; her parents, Herbert and Creshia Noble Riley Davis; her brothers, Bob Noble and Leonard Noble and her great-grandson, Paycin Baker.
Friends may call 10:00 a.m. – 11:00 a.m., Wednesday, June 16, 2021, at the Haskell & Morrison Funeral Home, 208 Ferry Street, Vevay, Indiana 47043.

Memorial services will be conducted on Wednesday, June 16, 2021 at 11:00 a.m., by Brother Joe Noble at the Haskell & Morrison Funeral Home, 208 Ferry Street, Vevay, Indiana 47043.

Interment will follow in the Slawson Cemetery, Bennington, Indiana.
