Michele Anne Stevens, 56 of Batesville, Indiana passed away on Monday, June 5, 2023. The daughter of John and Holly (Gates) Garnish was born on November 27, 1966 in Camp Hill, Pennsylvania.
She attended Clearwater High School and graduated from The Ultimate Medical Academy in Clearwater, Florida as a Medical Clinical Lab Assistant in 2005. Michele worked for many years in a nursing home in St. Petersburg, Florida as a caregiver.
Michele loved Thoroughbred horses and could tell you the bloodline of any horse, just by its name. She was a collector of fine Depression glass and loved uranium glass in particular. She enjoyed berry season, picking all the berries and cooking. Music was another love of hers, especially singing along to Blondie’s Rapture when it came on. Her favorite thing in life was walking her little dog Appajack.
Michele struggled with addiction her whole life in order to cope with the evils in this world. She had just begun to learn new coping skills and to honor Our Savoir Jesus Christ by first taking care of her body. Recently she had become a reborn Christian and was looking forward to a new beginning without the struggle of addiction.
She is survived by her parents, Holly & John Garnish; sister, Kelly Sims and nephew, Charlie Siegle and her friend, Harmon Messer.
There are no services planned at this time.
Michele was relentlessly bullied in school and throughout her life because she was socially shy and awkward. She would appreciated any donations or any act of kindness to go toward an Anti-bullying campaign.
Please feel free to leave a memory or a message of comfort for Michele’s family in the online guestbook.
