Luella C. Lamppert, age 88 of Oldenburg, died Monday, February 4, 2019 at her home. Born June 23, 1930 in Oldenburg, she is the daughter of Josephine (Nee: Effing) and Joseph Laudick. She married Alvin “Butch” Lamppert November 23, 1950 at Holy Family Church and he preceded her in death on June 28, 2008. She worked as a bookkeeper for the Oldenburg Garage, did scheduling for Woodmizer and was a waitress for Wagner’s Village Inn.
A devout woman, Luella attended mass daily and volunteered her time to the church freely, helping total the weekly collections and keeping alter linens cleaned and pressed. A Bengals fan, Luella was a former season ticket holder, was a league bowler and league secretary for many years as well as serving as a Girl Scout Leader. She was also an accomplished seamstress and liked making crafts. Over the years she’s made numerous memory bears to share with others. An excellent cook, Sunday nights the family would gather at her house for supper.
She is survived by her daughters Cheryl Tekulve, Carol Dobson, Catherine Quick and Cindalee Lamppert, all of Oldenburg; son Charles Lamppert of Oldenburg; sister Mary Fehringer of West Lafayette, Indiana; 12 grandchildren and 17 great grandchildren. In addition to her husband and parents, she is also preceded in death by sisters Freda Kyle, Gloria Laudick and brothers James and Francis Laudick.
Visitation is Saturday, February 9th, from 9 – 11 a.m. at the Srs. of St. Francis Chapel in Oldenburg. Funeral services follow at 11 a.m. with the Rev. Carl Langenderfer O.F.M. officiating and burial in the church cemetery. The family requests memorials to the Holy Family Capital Improvement Fund or Margaret Mary Health Foundation Hospice. Weigel Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.
