Versailles, IN — Sergeant Jared Black with the Indiana State Police was presented an Indiana State Police Lifesaving Award on Monday for his actions when he responded to a crash in August 2020 in rural Ripley County.
Sgt. Jared Black works out of the ISP post in Versailles, In. According to Black, a 17-year-old girl called 911 in late August after she crashed her car on Country Road 600 and noticed her car was on fire. Sgt. Black arrived on the scene of the single-vehicle crash and found the 17-year-old driver trapped in the vehicle that had caught fire. Sgt.
