List of area qualifiers for indoor Hoosier State Relays

Track and field athletes throughout the month of March have been competing at indoor meets in hopes of earning a spot at the Hoosier State Relays.  The big state indoor meet is March 26 at Indiana University.

To earn a spot at IU, an athlete must be among the top 24 in a running event, long jump and shot put or among the top 18 in the high jump and pole vault.  There is both a large school and small school division based on football classification.

The following area athletes will be competing on the 26th in Bloomington (qualifying position).

4A, 5A and 6A schools:

East Central

  • Leo Maxwell in the shot put (4th)
  • Ellie Hill in the high jump (5th)

1A, 2A and 3A schools:

Franklin County

  • Jacob Schatzle in the 60 dash (8th), pole vault (9th) and long jump (2nd)
  • Christian Stortz in the 60 dash (15th)
  • Boys 4×200 relay (15th)
  • Chad Cox in the high jump (3rd) and long jump (11th)
  • Girls 4×200 relay
  • Jenna Bruns in the high jump (14th)


  • Deacon Hamilton in the 60 hurdles (20th)
  • Boys 4×400 relay (8th)
  • Boys 4×800 relay (12th)
  • Boys 4000 distance medley (7th)
  • Lily Pinckley in the 3200 run (18th)
  • Girls 4×200 relay (20th)
  • Girls 4×400 relay (14th)
  • Girls 4×800 relay (12th)
  • Girls 4000 distance medley (7th)
  • Veronica King in the shot put (17th)


  • Matthew Stewart in the pole vault (7th)
