Linda Marveen Boor, 82, Sunman

Linda Marveen Boor, 82, of Sunman, passed away on Saturday, November 1, 2025 surrounded by family and listening to her favorite songs. She was born on July 29, 1943, in Columbus, Ohio, the daughter of Harold and Edith (Van Hoose) Van Schoyck. She married John Franklin Boor on April 26, 1964.

Marveen loved gardening and could often be found tending to her flowers, finding joy in watching them bloom throughout the seasons. Her yard was always filled with color and the cheerful sounds of birds. She also really loved to shop, always on the hunt for the best discounts and freebies, and then telling everyone she knew what a great deal she got.

Before retiring she was a chauffeur for Hillenbrands for many years and continued enjoying driving friends and family to appointments or events as needed; always ready to give a ride or lend a helping hand with a smile. Most of all, she loved her family dearly, cherishing every gathering, conversation, and shared moment (and then telling everyone she saw for weeks after the latest news on the kids and grandkids.) She cared deeply for her loved ones and would continuously worry about their well-being, always wanting to make sure everyone was happy and safe.

Marveen is survived by her loving husband of 61 years John; children Johnny Boor (Kim), Lisa (Tracy) Fox, Joe (Melissa) Boor, and Angie (Bryan) Messer. She is also survived by her grandchildren: Ryder Boor, Dutch Fox, Jake (Candace) Fox, Garrett Boor, Annalise Boor, Landon Boor, Warren Boor, Miles (Dani) Messer, Hannah Messer, and Drew Messer.  She was preceded in death by her parents and brother, Terry Van Schoyck.

Visitation for family and friends will be held on Wednesday, November 5, 2025, from 11:00 AM to 2:00 PM at St. John Lutheran Church Hubbells in Sunman. A funeral service will be held following the visitation at 2:00 PM with Pastor Rob Cooley officiating, also at the church.

Burial will follow at the church cemetery with a fellowship dinner following. The family hopes that all who knew and loved Marveen attend and share stories.

Memorial contributions can be made to St. John Lutheran Church Hubbells, or to the family, by bringing to services or mailing to Meyers Funeral Home, PO Box 202, Batesville, IN 47006.
