The FC Lady Wildcats hopes looked bleak after five innings on Tuesday night when they were taking on the Greensburg Pirates. Franklin County’s Varsity team was down 4 – 9 heading into the bottom of the sixth inning and hadn’t scored any runs since the first frame. Then the bats came alive and the Wildcats were able to come all the way back and defeat the Pirates by a final score of 10 – 9! In the big sixth inning for the Wildcats, they scored five runs and recorded five hits to tie the ball game at nine.
Bree Bischoff then sent down the Pirates in order in the top of the seventh inning to set up the epic walk-off in the bottom of the seventh. KK Ferman then came to the plate to lead off the inning and sent an 0-1 pitch over the center field wall for the game-winning home run!
It was a really great team effort in the comeback with many people contributing throughout. Bree Bischoff did a great job coming into pitch in the sixth and seventh inning, and the Wildcats never gave up on the game.
