Kelsee Lainhart: One year later

Chicago, IL — It was one year ago today that 2019 East Central High School graduate and U.S. Marine Corporal Kelsee Lainhart was seriously wounded in a terrorist attack at the Kabul, Afghanistan airport.

Thirteen of Lainhart’s fellow service members were killed, and dozens more – including Afghan civilians – were injured.

One of those killed was Marine Cpl. Humberto Sanchez of Logansport.

Lainhart continues her recovery and physical therapy at a Chicago area facility.

She’ll participate in a para-triathlon in the Windy City on Saturday, along with her boyfriend.
