The following are boys and girls junior high basketball recaps from February 12-14.
In junior high travel boys basketball from the weekend, the SEIclones went to Bloomington and won the MYT Play Hard Championship.
The eighth grade squad defeated a solid Jasper team 54-43 during the opening round. In the semifinals. the Clones beat South Dearborn 57-37 then knocked off Oolitic in the title game 54-37. Team members include Jace and Shea Hollendonner, Trenton Luers, Landon Raver, Nick Watterson and Cayden Drake.
The North Decatur eighth grade girls lost 42-9 to Greensburg. Jo Whitaker picked up five points for the Chargers.
The seventh grade ND gals got a 17-15 victory over the Pirates. For the Chargers, Jewel Verseman and Sarah Moeller scored seven and six respectively.
North Decatur’s junior high also met up with Edinburgh. The eighth grade Chargers lost 37-22 to the Lancers. Whitaker, Dot Robbins and Annie Waechter all put in six points for the locals.
North’s seventh grade beat Edinburgh 32-10. Sophie Rohls led the way with 13 points. Moeller followed with 10 and Miley Scudder added seven.
The Batesville eighth graders defeated South Ripley 29-12. Adalynn Fledderman, Grace Walter and Reesa Zimmerman tallied nine, eight and seven points respectively for the Lady Bulldogs.
The Batesville seventh graders captured a 33-9 win against South Ripley. The Bulldogs led 16-nothing after the first quarter. Sydney Campbell’s 11 points and nine from Ella King were BMS bests.
The St. Louis seventh graders improved to 6-1 with a 28-17 victory over Franklin County. The Cardinals led 11-0 after the first quarter.
Belle Young had 11 points to lead the Cardinals. Gina Grote canned a pair of threes on her way to eight points.
