Joe A. Perkins, 88, of Milan passed away Sunday, January 6, 2019 at Good Samaritan Hospital in Cincinnati. Joe was born Wednesday, March 26, 1930 the son of Will and Amie (Kidd) Perkins. He married Janet Bareswilt June 26, 1962 and she preceded him in death February 4, 2016. Joe retired as a self-employed mechanic, served his country in the U.S. Army and was a Korean War Veteran receiving the Bronze Star Medal. He was of the Baptist faith and enjoyed working on cars, working outdoors and farming.
Joe is survived by sons Keith (Mary) Perkins and Paul (Darlene) Perkins both of Milan, Doug (Nancy) Perkins of West Harrison, David (Connie) Perkins of Goshen, Ohio and Joey (Lorrie) Perkins of Cincinnati, many grandchildren, several great grandchildren and several great-great grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his parents, wife Janet, 3 sons: Johnny, Willie and Jimmy Perkins, 7 brothers, 4 sisters and granddaughter Angel Perkins.
A service celebrating his life will be held 1 PM Wednesday, January 9, 2019 at Laws-Carr-Moore Funeral Home in Milan with Pastor Harris Long officiating. Family and friends may gather to honor and remember him 11 AM – 1 PM Wednesday also at the funeral home. Memorials may be given in honor of Joe to the Korean War Veterans.
