Janice Marie Chipman, 87, of Aurora, IN, passed away Thursday, February 22, 2024.
She was born June 30, 1936, in Dillsboro, Indiana. She was the fifth child of Curtis and Geneva (Walker) Chipman, both preceded her in death.
Also preceding her in death are her siblings; Curtis (late, Bernidean “Babe”) Chipman, Jr, Barbara Chipman, Norman Chipman, Melvin Chipman, Sharon Moses, and Albert Ivan (late, Betty Lou) Chipman; She has 13 nieces and nephews who she referred to as her kids. They are Ted Chipman, Debra (Bill) Murray, Beverly Champe, Tamara (Donald) Martini, Tim (Pam) Chipman, Betty Ann (Kevin) Schwab, Sandy (Mark) Verdon, Tina Chipman, Teresa (Barry) Witte, Karen (Rodney) Steiner, David Moses, and both Brenda Sniegowski and Ed Moses who preceded her in death. Janice also has 34 great nieces and nephews, 61 great, great nieces and nephews and 10 great, great, great nieces and nephews. She is also survived by sister-in-laws, Ruth Chipman (late, Norman) & Marjorie Chipman (late, Melvin) and brother-in-law, Larry Moses (late, Sharon)
Janice worked over 39 years at the Dearborn County Agriculture (ASCS) office and 10 1/2 years at Walmart. She was a member of First Presbyterian Church in Aurora and was a Sunday School teacher for many years. She loved teaching little children about the Lord. In addition to being a Sunday school teacher, she was treasurer for three years, the financial secretary for many years, and also served as an Elder and Deacon for many terms.
Friends will be received Friday, March 1, 2024 from 12:00 pm – 2:00 pm at the First Presbyterian Church, 215 Fourth Street, Aurora, Indiana.
Services will be held at 2:00 pm at the church, following visitation.
Interment will follow in the River View Cemetery, Aurora, IN.
Contributions may be made to the First Presbyterian Church or Phi Beta Psi Cancer Research
