The regular season’s over now in Indiana boys’ high school basketball, and sectional tournament play begins Tuesday.  Last night on WRBI, it was a heck of a game for a while, but South Ripley’s Raiders just kept widening their lead over the Jac-Cen-Del Eagles, and wound up winning by 21, the final 66-45.  Also, Greensburg locked up the EIAC championship by taking East Central to overtime and the Pirates prevailing 48-39.  A few of our other scores last night included North Decatur ripping Southwestern Shelby 69-29, South Dearborn topping Switzerland County 54-39, and South Decatur beating Knightstown, 58- 46.

That clears the decks for the start of the statewide boys’ tournament with sectional action Tuesday.  We’re going to have some great games in this part of the state, starting that evening with North Decatur taking on Milan, at South Ripley.  You can hear all the action here on WRBIRadio.com, on the radio at the Sports Voice, 103.9 FM, as well as on the new WRBI app, starting around 6:15 Tuesday, the game tipping at 6:30.  Then Wednesday, we’ll have a double-header for you, as  Jac-Cen-Del faces  Waldron at 6:00 in Edinburgh, our broadcast starting at 5:45…  then around 7:30,  Batesville and  South Dearborn tip off at Greensburg.  Tuesday and Wednesday’s winners will go on to play again Friday, and we’ll have all the action for you, right here.  So take us wherever you go–  and just to make sure you don’t miss anything, download the app right now.  Can’t hurt, and we’ll keep you up on your favorite teams.

Now if you’re a fan of spring and summer, you may have been looking forward to today for quite a while…  because way down southwest, the major leaguers are starting actual spring training baseball games to get their skills sharpened up for the regular campaign.  This afternoon at Arizona’s Goodyear Park and about a week into this year’s camp, Cincinnati’s hosting the Cleveland Guardians.  You can hear it all right here, pregame coverage starting at 2:50, and the first pitch around 3:05, on the Sports Voice, your Home of the Reds, 103.9 FM WRBI.

We didn’t have any men’s college basketball scores to tell you about Friday night, but here’s what’s happening with some of our nearby men’s teams…  UC’s Bearcats are in action this afternoon, visiting the Horned Frogs of Texas Christian, in Fort Worth.  Also, Eastern Michigan’s Eagles swoop into Muncie to go after Ball State’s Cardinals…  the Hoosiers visit Penn State today, and Butler’s Bulldogs are in Jersey to take on Seton Hall.  Then tonight, the Flames of Illinois-Chicago try to burn down ISU’s Sycamores, in Terre Haute.
