Hoosier kids 12 and up can now be vaccinated; number of people getting the shot down

Indianapolis, IN — Kids in Indiana as young as 12 are now eligible to receive the coronavirus vaccine. The Pfizer vaccine is being offered to kids in junior high and early high school grades, as of this morning. Meanwhile, not as many people in Indiana are getting vaccinated against COVID-19. The State Department of Health’s latest figures show vaccine distribution is less than half of what it was last month. Doctors and nurses handed out just over 33,000 doses on Tuesday, which is down from a one-day peak of nearly 75,000 doses on April 6.  It’s not clear why vaccine numbers have dropped off so dramatically.
