Helen L. Combs, 87 of Milan passed away February 3, 2018 at Ripley Crossing in Milan. Helen was born December 1, 1930 in Lawrenceburg, Indiana the daughter of George and Alma (Anderson) Pilz. She married Carley Combs October 9, 1948 and he preceded her in death April 23, 1994. Helen worked for Arkenburg restaurant for many years and was a homemaker. She was a member of the St. Paul Methodist Church in Milan, was a Den leader and helped out the Girl Scouts. She enjoyed needle-pointing, sewing, gardening and her computer. She loved to spend time with her family.
Helen is survived by daughter: Jeanette (Leland) Vanosdol of Benham; sister: Virginia Gail Pettit of Frankfort, Ky; daugther-in-law: Debby Combs of Batesville; 5 Grandchildren: Jason, Jeremy, Josh Combs, Brian and Nick Vanosdol. Special thanks for Nick Vanosdol for always being there; 6 Great-Grandchildren. Helen was preceded in death by her parents, husband and son: Wayne Combs, 4 brothers and 2 sisters.
Funeral service will be 11 a.m. Tuesday February 6, 2018 at Laws-Carr-Moore funeral home with Pastor Charlie Miller officiating. Burial will be follow in Craven Cemetery south of Milan. Visitation will be from 9-11 a.m. Tuesday February 6, 2018 also at Laws-Carr-Moore Funeral Home. Memorials may be made to Donor’s Choice.
