Health Department requiring plans for events

Ripley County, IN — Due to the elevated metrics of covid-19 cases in Ripley County, and in an effort to control the spread of COVID-19 officials are implementing that plans must be submitted for events over a certain number of attendees, on how to mitigate the spread of the virus. The state reached another record single-day high for positive cases on Thursday with 3,649 new positive cases.

Dr. David J. Welsh, Ripley County Health Officer is requiring events with over 150 attendees to submit event plans to the Ripley County Health Department. This requirement took effect on October 28.

• Event plans will be required to address control measures in place to mitigate the spread of COVID-19 at the event.
• Event plans will be required to be submitted at a minimum of 14 days prior to the event.
