The following are golf recaps from Saturday, April 30. Events are varsity unless noted otherwise. There may be updates, so please check back.
In junior high golf, Batesville hosted a nine-team middle school invitational at Hillcrest. Batesville’s A-team edged Franklin County 195-198 to win the event. East Central, St. Louis, Connersville and Rushville were also represented.
Team scores: Batesville A 195, Franklin County 198, Connersville 200, Batesville B 225, East Central 236, Benjamin Rush 240, Batesville C 253, Switzerland County 265 and St. Louis 272.
Connersville’s Trey Hughes was medalist with a 43. Franklin County’s Carson Allen posted 45 and Batesville’s Ian Hixon was third overall with 47. Abby Keal of Connersville was low for the girls with 50. Batesville’s Zoey Ahern was next for the ladies with a 56.
Other BMS-A scores: Landon Raver 48, Isaac Weber 49, Wes Peters 51, and Cooper Phebus 52.
Other BMS-B scores: Jon Moody 49, Alexis Gallaher 52, Kaiden Eckstein 59 and Grace Saner 61.
BMS-C team scores: Brody Gibson 51, Brycen Miller 61, Noah Davis 63 and Adelyne Koehne 78.
Playing for the Cardinals were Augie Hillenbrand, Sam Richardson, Aaron Bauer, Rylan Hill, and Owen Beckner.

North Decatur was second at the Trinity Lutheran Invite held at Shadowood in Seymour. Fishers netted 320 for the title. ND followed with 337. Batesville was fifth totaling 383.
The Chargers Collin Bryant shot a team best and personal best, 3-over 75 which earned him medalist honors. Carson Parmer was close behind with 79. Brady Espinda’s 90 and Jack Koehne’s 93 rounded out the scoring four. Also for North, Xavier Adams posted 97. wasn’t far behind, finishing the day with a 97.
The Chargers 337 was 22 strokes better than the score turned in at the same invitational last year.
