Frances Marlene (Swango) Madden, 76 passed away on June 1, 2021 at her home, surrounded by family. She said, “I was born, I lived, I died”, but her life was so much more than that. She was born on July 27, 1944, to Mose and Olive Swango. She was a lifelong resident of Greensburg. She married her love, Ronald Madden, on November 9, 1962. She spent most of her life as a homemaker, as well as babysitting, being an amazing mother, and wonderful grandma and great-grandma. She was a best friend, a confidante, and welcoming to all she met. She loved to cook, bake, sew, crochet, and be surrounded by family. She was a member of the Burney Baptist Church.
She is survived by her children, Jeanette (Jerry) Dwiggins, Jon (Juana Weaver) Madden, Joyce (Kerry) Wilson, and Kevin Colson (Annette Niehoff); her grandchildren, Jenna Dwiggins (Kyle Williams), Jackie (Kody) Schneider, Brice (Carrie) Burton, Dillon (Kristy) Madden, Macy (Tyler) Gray, and Lane Wilson; her great-grandchildren, LaShay and Landon Dwiggins, Mackenzie, Parker, and Levi Schneider, Promise Burton, Chandler, Oliver, and Avery Madden, Molly and baby Gray, Loren and Tyler Richards, and Emmalyn Copeland; siblings William Pete (Ethleen) Swango and Eula Jean (Steve) Roszell, and several brother-in-laws, sister-in-laws, nieces, and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her parents, husband, son Ronald Lee Madden Jr., her daughter Julie Colson, and sisters Vivian Sallee, Myrtle Culbertson, Gladys Lee, Wilma Lou Sallee, Carolyn Swango, and Rose Swango.
A visitation for family and friends will be held at the Gilliland-Howe Funeral Home on Thursday, June 3, 2021 from 4:00 pm until 7:00 pm. Funeral services will be Friday, June 4, 2021 at 11:00 am also at the Funeral Home. Rev. Scott Sharp will be officiating. Burial will follow at Rossburg Cemetery.
