Faye Ann (Wright) Hoffmeier, 89, of Dillsboro, Indiana, formerly of Aurora, Indiana, passed away Saturday September 19, 2020.
She was born May 11, 1931 in Oxford, Ohio, daughter of the late Walter Wright and Hannah (Jacobs) Wright.
Faye worked for H & R Block during tax season. She was a member of St. Mary’s Catholic Church. She proudly served on the Legion of Mary Committee for several years, making home visits to new mothers and other church members.
Faye enjoyed baking and getting together with friends. She really enjoyed community events, such as church picnics, musical events, and art & craft events with her friends. She was very hospitable and loved having gatherings at her home. She loved to entertain, and her Memorial Day gathering was one of her favorites. Faye never met a stranger and she was a very loving & uplifting person to everyone she came into contact with. She was a faithful and loving person who will be greatly missed.
Faye is survived by her daughter, Brenda Black of Guilford, IN; grandchildren, Jamie Black (Joel Braun) of North Royalton, OH, Bart Black of Aurora, IN and Kyle Black of Aurora, IN; great-grandchildren, Alex, Leni & Niki Doehrmann, and Joey & Jake Black.
She was preceded in death by her parents; her loving husband, Francis V. “Blackie” Hoffmeier, brother, Bill Wright, sisters, Charlotte Brenner, Betty Kurtz and Bernice Wright.
Friends will be received Thursday, September 24, 2020, 5:00 pm – 7:00 pm at the Rullman Hunger Funeral Home, 219 Mechanic Street, Aurora, IN.
Services will be held at St. Mary’s Catholic Church, 203 Fourth Street, Aurora, Indiana on Friday at 10:00 am with Father Ben Syberg officiating.
Interment will follow in the River View Cemetery, Aurora, Indiana.
Contributions may be made to the St. Mary’s Church, St. Mary’s School or Alzheimer’s Association. If unable to attend services, please call the funeral home office at (812) 926-1450 and we will notify the family of your donation with a card.
