Evelyn L. Niese, age 80 of Morris, Indiana, passed away peacefully in her sleep Saturday, March 23, 2024, at her home. Born April 11, 1943, in Mishawaka, Indiana, she is the daughter of Eunice Fecher. She married Eugene H. Niese on April 8, 1967, at St. Louis Catholic Church in Batesville and he preceded her in death on September 8, 2012.
Evelyn loved her grandsons and would have them watch her shows like Walker Texas Ranger, Supernational or NCIS with her. She was an avid fan of wrestling (which you did not argue it is not fake per her), her favorite was the Undertaker and Roman Reigns. She was a member of the Silver Sneakers at Anytime Fitness, going three times a week and she loved her trainers there. Her favorite holiday was Christmas, and she would sometimes wear Christmas shirts all year round. She loved Wolves, Light Houses, Eagles, Barbies and Elvis, which she had many collectibles of these items. Evelyn and her late husband enjoyed concerts like Alabama, Conway Twitty and the Oak Ridge Boys. Both her and her husband Eugene loved to travel to Gatlinburg and places in Tennessee multiple times, but their favorite trip was to Alaska which they visited twice. Evelyn was a homemaker and spent most of her life bringing up her four children. She did later in life work for something to do at the New Point Truck Stop in the kitchen. She also was an avid babysitter for her grandchildren as needed and would always get on the floor and play with wrestling figures, Magic Cards or anything they wanted to do.
She is survived by her daughters Eugenia (Jeffrey) Feiler of Fairfield, Ohio and Eva Lunsford of Batesville; sons Patrick Niese of Batesville and Thomas (Nicole) Niese of Walton, Kentucky; sister Joyce Schebler of Batesville; grandchildren Cody, Connor and Carver Lunsford, Zachary and Logan Feiler and Gabriel Walton, as well as numerous nieces and nephews. In addition to her mother and husband, she was preceded in death by her grandson Austin Feiler (Zachary’s twin).
