East Central’s girls cross country team won Richmond’s Hare and Hounds Saturday. The Trojan boys came in fifth. The Lady Trojans had four runners in the top 10: Rachel Campbell 2nd-21:02, Addie Brewer 5th-21:58, Faith Henderson 8th-22:34 and Emily Klem 9th-22:46.
Franklin County coach Stacey Nobbe reported her teams were not able to qualify as teams and ran as individuals. For the Lady Wildcats, freshman Esther George was the top finisher in 37th place. She finished the 5K distance with a time of 26:52. Senior Katherine Apsley came in 46th. For the Wildcat boys, Ben Maze just missed a top 20 finish has he crossed in 23rd with a time of 19:48. Senior Adam Grant finished 33rd with a time of 20:24. Junior Harmon Marshall started out strong but quickly faded in the second mile.
