Dry Conditions Improving Around SE IN

(Southeastern IN) – Things are looking up when it comes to dry conditions around Southeastern Indiana.

Most of area is classified as abnormally dry on the latest U.S. Drought Monitor map (pictured).

We had been in a moderate drought in recent weeks.

Just about all of Franklin and Decatur counties are considered to be under normal conditions, with the southern edge of those counties and all of Ripley and Dearborn “Abnormally Dry.”

Franklin County Commissioners are considering lifting the countywide burn ban; they say they’ll reassess the situation after this weekend.

Showers are expected late Saturday into Sunday night.
