Donna Joyce (Naegele) Laaker, 81, of Dillsboro passed away Sunday, April 1, 2018 at her residence. Donna was born Wednesday, June 3, 1936 in Dillsboro, IN, the daughter of Lawrence and Myrtle (Green) Naegele, who preceded her in death. Donna was a former employee of Conn Organ at Madison, cared for a lot of children in the area, and was an Avon lady for many years. She was a member of St. John’s Lutheran Church at Farmers Retreat, was a member of St. John’s Ladies and LWML; was a Pink Lady of the Dearborn County Hospital Auxiliary, and was a former 50+ member. She loved sewing, canning and decorating the house for holidays; was a collector of nut crackers, loved reading, working in her flower gardens, watching game shows and doing puzzles.
Donna is survived by her husband, Virgil, son Mark (Connie) Laaker, daughter Debra (Michael) Holland all of Dillsboro; sisters Wanda (Charlie) Baker and Sharon Naegele also of Dillsboro; Grandchildren Chris and Bryan Holland, Johnathan (Erica) Laaker, Stephanie (Steve) Courter and David Laaker, and a host of friends.
Funeral services will be 11AM Friday April 6, at Filter-DeVries-Moore Funeral Home with Rev. Garry Wickert and Charlie Baker officiating. Burial will follow in Oakdale Cemetery at Dillsboro. Visitation will be 5-7:30 Thursday April 5 at the funeral home. Dearborn County Hospital Auxiliary service will be at 7:30. Memorials may be given in her memory to St. John’s Lutheran Church, Trinity Lutheran Church or Oakdale Cemetery.
