Columbus, IN—CPD officers arrested a local man Tuesday morning after he reportedly stole a purse from a customer inside a fast-food restaurant. CPD officers responded to the reported theft at McDonald’s, located on National Road. When the officers arrived, they spoke with witnesses who stated that the suspect, who was later identified as Torrie L. Bryant, 31, of Columbus, ran out of the restaurant with a customer’s purse.
Three witnesses chased the suspect, however, they lost sight of him a short time later. Officers later located Bryant at a residence on 15th Street where he was placed under arrest. He was transported to the Bartholomew County Jail with a 48-hour hold on a preliminary charge of theft. The incident remains under investigation.
