Colleen Lawburgh, 93, Milan

           Colleen (Singleton) Lawburgh, 93, of Milan, passed away on Tuesday, September 28, 2021 at Ripley Crossing in Milan. Colleen was born on Sunday, January 22, 1928 in Hardburly, Kentucky, the daughter of William and Bertha (Combs) Singleton. She married her loving husband, Harold Lawburgh, on June 11, 1950 and he preceded her in death on March 1, 2009. Colleen was a member of the Milan United Methodist Church. She retired from teaching after 34 years teaching for the South Dearborn School Corporation and the Milan Community School Corporation. She was involved in many organizations including, but not limited to, Eastern Star, DAR, International Yours since 1956, New Harmony Club, and the VFW Ladies Auxiliary. Colleen enjoyed traveling with family and friends.

Colleen will be missed by her family including her son James “Jim” (Linda) Lawburgh of Louisiana; brother Dennis Singleton of California; nephews Michael (Debbie) Hall and Gary Hall both of Milan; nieces Carol Jackson of Milan and Luwanda Hall-Lykens (Gary) of Greenfield; three grandchildren; nine great-grandchildren; and five great-great-grandchildren.

Colleen was preceded in death by her parents, husband Harold, and one great-grandchild.

Private services will be held at the convenience of the family. A celebration of life service will be held at a later date. Memorials may be given in honor of Colleen to the South Dearborn Scholarship Foundation or the Milan Scholarship Foundations.
