(Batesville, IN) – The Batesville Area Chamber of Commerce will recognize local businesses, educators and volunteers during its Annual Awards Dinner on Tuesday, March 10.

This year’s event, themed “Celebrate a Night Full of Stars,” begins at 6:30 p.m., with doors opening at 5:30, at The Hall at the Knights of Columbus on Delaware Road in Batesville. The evening is designed to highlight organizations and individuals who have made significant contributions to the community over the past year.

Awards scheduled to be presented include Organization of the Year, Educator of the Year, Volunteer of the Year and the Distinguished Service Award. This year’s Distinguished Service Award will honor Clem and Bertie Schmidt, while Organization of the Year will go to One Community One Family. Jason Walke has been named Educator of the Year, and Summer Food for Kids will receive Volunteer Organization of the Year recognition.

Chamber officials say the annual dinner brings together business leaders, nonprofit organizations and community stakeholders to celebrate collaboration and economic growth in the Batesville area. The Chamber, established in 1920, serves more than 350 partners across Ripley and Franklin counties and surrounding communities.

The awards program is part of a busy spring season for the Chamber, which also includes a legislative luncheon with local state lawmakers March 3 and the launch of its first-ever “Building Leaders, Building Communities” Leadership Academy beginning March 19 in partnership with Ivy Tech Community College.

Registration for the Annual Awards Dinner is required in advance. Those interested can sign up through the events section of the Chamber’s website at batesvillein.com/events.
