It was the low scoring game Batesville’s Bulldogs were hoping for against Greensburg Thursday at the Dog Pound.  However, the visiting Pirates still managed to prevail 42-34.

As heard on the Sports Voice, the two EIAC varsity foes were tied 5-5 at the first stop and Batesville held an 11-7 advantage at the half.

In the third, Greensburg outscored BHS 15-8 to go up 22-19.  And in the highest scoring period of the night totaling 35 points, the Pirates went on to win by eight.

Both teams knocked down 10 deuces and four treys.  The scoring difference came at the stripe where the Bucs made 10 of 11 while the Dogs were two for two.  Rebounds and turnovers were nearly a draw.

Greensburg got 13 points from Colin Comer and 11 via Ki Dyer. Batesville, playing without Thomas Raver, saw Cody Mohr lead in scoring with nine, Cade Kaiser had eight and Cole Werner put in seven.

The JV final also went to the Pirates 48-34.

The Pirate reserves got 16 points from Bradley Lutz and 12 from Jack McKinzie. Top scorers for the Bulldogs were Jack Grunkemeyer and Cole Pride with eight each.
