(Brookville, IN) – The Brookville Police Department recently cleaned up an overgrown yard for a lady who has been in and out of the hospital.
Brookville Police Chief Terry Mitchum explained, “I had a follow-up with someone that received an ordinance complaint on their lawn. During my conversation, I found out she had been in and out of the hospital due to some severe medical issues. After I updated the ordinance officer, I overheard the officers discussing wanting to help her out. The next day several off-duty officers showed up with their own mowers, weed eaters, and hedge trimmers. The officers spent hours of their own time helping someone in need. I’m proud of these officers. I’m lucky to have a group of compassionate and caring employees.”
