
(Batesville, IN) – The Batesville Area Chamber of Commerce celebrated success and presented awards at its Annual Awards Dinner that was held at The Knights of Columbus Hall on Thursday night.
The theme of the event was “Celebrate a Night Full of Stars.”
After a welcome and several introductions, dinner was served and awards were presented.
The Southeast Indiana Health Center, also known as “The Free Clinic,” was named Organization of the Year.
Mary Ellen Rippe received the Distinguished Service Award.
The Volunteer of the Year is Jama Linkel-Cleghorn.
And Batesville Primary School first grade teacher Becky Brown was named Educator of the Year.
Outgoing Chamber board members Jonathon Maple, Tara Anderson and Katie Sparks were recognized for their years of service, while Brandy Wessel was welcomed as an incoming board member.
The Batesville Chamber brought in 21 new members last year.
Also in 2024, the Chamber sold $80,000 in gift certificates; $47,000 was spent at local businesses through the Chamber’s Holiday Passport Promotion, and $28,000 was spent at local businesses through the Chamber’s “Christmas in July” initiative.
