(Columbus, IN) – A Greensburg man will spend time behind bars after he pled guilty in Bartholomew County to domestic violence-related charges.
Twenty-five-year-old Riley Christopher Schnider was arrested in Columbus last September following a reported domestic disturbance.
The victim told police that Schnider, who lived in Columbus at the time, had been drinking, shouted at her, and then threatened her with a knife.
Schnider was taken into custody and charged with Intimidation with a Deadly Weapon (Level 5 felony) and Domestic Battery (Class A misdemeanor).
He entered a guilty plea in June to the Intimidation with a Deadly Weapon count and the Domestic Battery charge.
Schnider was sentenced in Bartholomew Superior Court to three years in the Indiana Department of Corrections; one year in community corrections on the felony charge, plus one year in the Bartholomew County Jail, which was suspended to probation and will run consecutively.
