The Semi-State consists of 20 teams and 40 individuals from 4 other Regionals that make up the field of approximately 180 runners. This is a non-class tournament and the competition was tough.  I cannot remember more miserable running conditions for a cross country tournament than Saturday morning was.  What a wet, cold and windy morning it was. But, the race must go on!  The Batesville Bulldog XC teams put on their mental toughness and ran through it with a lot of toughness and grit. In fact, we had 1 make the All-Semi State team, 2 advance to the state meet and 2 run a personal best!  First congratulations to senior, Adam Moster for placing 20th and being named to the All-Semi State team and running a personal best time of 16:11.  The first 10 individuals not on one of the top 6 teams advancing get to move on as an individual and Adam was 9th.  On the girls side, sophomore, Lily Pinckley placed 23rd overall, just missing the top 20th spot, but was the 10th individual not on an advancing team show she will advance to state next weekend!  Congratulations Adam and Lily!
Overall the boys placed 12th, one spot better than they were seeded. Led by Adam Moster.  Senior Joshua Myers came in next at 43rd and running a personal best time of 16:36. He was closely followed by Ean Loichinger in 50th (16:40).  Also running for the dogs were Benjamin Moster, 94th, Daren Smith 157th, Dillon Murray 164th, and Nathan Villani 167th.
The girls finished 11th overall, right where they were seeded. They were led by Lily Pinckley. Ava Hanson came in next at 70th (20:27), followed by Maria Lopez in 80th (20:44), senior Liz Loichinger, right at 100th (20:58). The final 3 came in one right after another, Madison Rahschulte, Sophie Myers and Trysta Vierling (111, 113, 114).
Congratulations to all! For the team on an incredible season…lots to be proud of…and to Adam and Lily another week of training to compete at the big dance…the State Meet.  This will be next Saturday at the LaVerne Gibson Course in Terre Haute.  Adam will run at 1:00 pm and Lily at 1:45 pm.  Good Luck!
Batesville would also like to congratulate and wish Brenner Hannah from Greensburg as she was 6th overall and will also advance in the state meet.

The Cross Country State Finals will be taking place on Saturday Afternoon, November 2nd at The LaVern Gibson Championship Cross Country Course in Terre Haute with The Boys starting at 1 followed by The Girls at 1:45.
