It’s Opening Day in Cincinnati. The Reds host the San Francisco Giants this afternoon at Great American Ball Park. Hunter Greene starts for Cincinnati. He’ll be opposed by Logan Webb. Coverage begins at 3:40 this afternoon on 103.9 WRBI.

The Reds made a flurry of roster moves yesterday. Outfielder Austin Hays will start the season on the injured list with a left calf strain…The club reversed plans to have Spencer Steer open on the IL because of a shoulder injury, and he will instead be on the active roster. Since he’s not ready to throw, Steer will be used only as a designated hitter or a pinch-hitter early on…Outfielder Stuart Fairchild was designated for assignment, which means Blake Dunn and Jacob Hurtubise made the Opening Day roster as reserve outfielders.

The Los Angeles Lakers slid by the Pacers 120-119 in NBA action heard last night on the Sports Voice. A buzzer beater by Lebron James lifted LA to the win. The loss snaps Indiana’s five game winning streak. Bennedict Mathurin led the Pacers with 23 points. Myles Turner added a double double: 16 points and 12 rebounds. Tyrese Haliburton record yet another double double. He had 16 points and 18 assists. The Lakers’ Luka Doncic led all scorers with 34 points, while James added 13 points and 13 boards. The Pacers fall to 42-30 on the year, and will embark on a two-game road trip tonight when they visit the Washington Wizards. Tipoff is at 7 p.m.

In college basketball, the NCAA Tournament Sweet 16 tips off tonight. BYU plays Alabama and Arizona goes up against top seed Duke in the East Region semifinals in Newark, New Jersey; Maryland battles #1 Florida and Arkansas faces Texas Tech in the West Region semis in San Francisco.

Gary Danielson has announced his retirement as CBS Sports’ lead college football analyst effective at the end of the 2025 season. Danielson retires as the longest tenured college football game analyst after 36 seasons in television – 2025 will be his 20th and final year with CBS. Charles Davis has been named to succeed Danielson in 2026.
