Bergquist takes the gavel as Batesville City Judge

(Batesville, IN) – Batesville City Court has a new judge.

Bradley Bergquist was appointed City Judge by Gov. Eric Holcomb in March and was recently sworn in by Mayor Mike Bettice.

Bergquist succeeds former Judge John Kellerman, who resigned to take another position.

As Municipal Judge, Bergquist will be responsible for civil disputes of $3,000 or less and criminal cases or traffic violations with penalties of one year in jail or less.

“Judge Bergquist is an excellent choice. I am confident that he will do a fine job leading our municipal courts,” Mayor Bettice said.

Judge Bergquist holds a Bachelor’s Degree from Indiana University and a Law Degree from Indiana University Maurer Law School.

He currently practices at Wilson Law Office in Batesville, dealing with estate planning, real estate, school, and municipal law.

The new judge lives in Batesville with his wife and two children.
