Construction is nearing an end and hiring has begun for Steak ‘n Shake in Batesville.

An opening date has been announced for Steak ‘n Shake in Batesville. The first day of business for the burger chain is scheduled for Thurs, Jan. 23.

The groundbreaking ceremony was held last March, however, construction efforts were stalled for months causing residents to question when the franchise would open. Patience will pay off as large crowds are expected for the grand opening and beyond.

“It’s going to mean everything to me. It is something we have been working on for two and half years,” revealed Beverly Broughton, who is the building owner of the Batesville Steak ‘n Shake.

“I hope it brings everything I want for Batesville as well.”

Broughton said the restaurant will be open from 10 a.m. to 10 p.m. before eventually transitioning to serving its famous steakburgers and milkshakes 24 hours a day.

A new employer in the area means added jobs. Open interviews are currently being conducted this week at the Hampton Inn in Batesville. Interested applicants should bring a valid I.D. to the hotel on Thursday or Friday between 11-5p.m.

Hiring information is also available on the newly installed digital sign at the restaurant, Broughton added.

The restaurant is located by CVS near the east bound exit ramp of Interstate 74.
